If you enjoy swimming pools, Poipu Shores has one of the most beautiful oceanfront pools on the Island of Kauai. The view from the pool area is unbelieveably beautiful. Looking down from the railing in the pool area is like being in a glass bottom boat. You can see the giant sea turtles feeding off the rocks below, as well as many other marine species too. The nearest sandy swimming beach from Poipu Shores is a spot called Brennecke Beach. It is a short 350 yard stroll along the ocean. A few steps further is Poipu Beach Park, which the Travel Channel has named as one of "America's Best Beaches."
Several restaurants are within walking distance from Poipu Shores and many others are less than a two minute drive. Poipu Shores has several propane fired barbecues located on the property. There are two golf courses in Poipu. The Poipu Bay Golf Resort, located next to the Hyatt Regency, and the Kiahuna Golf Course, are less than one mile from Poipu Shores.
